To Drown in a Sea of Stars: A poetry collection on love, nature, and mental health.

Well, I'm working on prepping my poetry book for publishing through Amazon KDP! I've got the entire manuscript done and am just working through a few technical issues, so hopefully it'll actually be released soon! That's the goal, at least. It turns out publishing is a rather complcated process that requires a lot of patience and caffeine. Copious amouts of both. Who knew? But I will get there, and I will be a published author!

To Drown in a Sea of Stars features 53 poems about my mental health journey, nature, and the important people in my life. I've always loved poetry, and grew up reading Shakespeare, Carroll, and dozens upon dozens of children's poetry books. I started writing poetry seriously in November of 2024, but didn't really consider publishing until early this year. My great uncle, K. Lucius Boyd, has written an amazing poetry collection, Grasshopper Dreams, about his childhood and life in the south, and reading it inspired me to try to publish my own. I also have a gorgeous copy of The Oxford Book of English Verse which features poems from 1250-1918, edited by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch. This book also deeply inspired me to try my hand at poetry.

The main reason To Drown in a Sea of Stars exists is because I went through a very hard time with my mental health in late 2024-mid 2025. My life was not pleasant at this time, and I processed my pain and emotions partly through writing poetry. I wrote a guest article for my good friend Sarah Elizabeth Sax on this topic, and you can read it here.

Anyway, it will hopefully be published pretty soon, if all goes well. I have a poetry group that readers can join, in which I have posted a few of my poems. Feel free to comment!

(Also, please check out Sarah Elizabeth Sax's and K. Lucius Boyd's site, they are both amazing people and writers. I will be writing more about them at some point in the future. Thank you!)

P.S. here is a pic of what will hopefully be the book cover. let me know what you think!

Guest Article from Sarah Sax! One of my pet peeves is when people say, “I always—” followed by something like, “I always read a book before bed.” There was a time when you didn’t read before bed. At

Publishing Poetry

So...It turns out that I cannot publish my poetry collection yet because Amazon will remove it if I don't get enough reviews or if people don't buy it. Or something like that. Point is, I cannot publi

I'll be honest, I'm pretty picky about book covers, but I LOVE this one! It feels very retro and clearly fits the poetry vibe!
